Martine Ipperciel alias Maiel painter. Born in Montreal in June 1976, from her childhood, she has always been very creative and passionate about everything related to art. It was when she moved to the Hautes Laurentides that she discovered her passion for animals and nature.
It was in 1994 that she developed an interest in oil painting and later acrylic. Inspired by nature, her creative approach consists in transmitting the energy of her emotions intensively in the gaze of these wild animals.
Maiel is a solitary and passionate artist, it is through spontaneous gestures that she lets herself be guided by expressing her emotions of the moment while creating landscapes and wild animals with intense gazes.
A way for the artist to share his passion and his emotions of the moment through painting.
ARTISTIC APPROACH
I draw my inspiration from nature . When an emotion arises in me , I have this visceral need to express this emotion in the eyes of my wild animals. Emotion is often the trigger for the animal subject and its composition. I mainly produce my works on canvas or wood panels. Freehand, I refine the shape and expression of the gaze between the perceived and the felt . When the emotion is visible in the gaze of the animal, I let myself be guided by spontaneous gestures in relief and depth using sober colors , games of shadow and light.
Between instinct and rationality, I let nature permeate the composition of the painting or simply on a plain, sober and monochrome background. The emotion and the season are essential elements in the composition which allows me to attend a mysterious moment where time seems suspended and allows me to evacuate the emotion felt . I refine the gaze and when it is perceptible and lets glimpse a soul, I have the feeling of attending a moment of rebirth and meditation .
My works testify to my love for animals and nature. The gaze of my animals is fascinating and captivating. Above all , I seek to create an emotional dialogue between you and the animal .
